What is an eyelash extension?

An eyelash extension is a process in which a single silk fibre is bonded to an individual eyelash with adhesive, giving you a fuller, longer natural looking lash.

How do they feel when wearing them?
So light you can’t even feel them!

How are they applied?
They must be applied by a trained and certified technician as surgical adhesive is used in the treatment. The client will lie down with their eyes shut and the technician will apply the extensions to an individual lash with tweezers. It is a simple and pain free application!

How long does it take to get eyelash extensions?
It takes between 1 – 2 hours depending on your eyelashes.

Can I still use mascara & swim?
There is no problem with showering or swimming and you can even wear mascara!

However:
do not wear waterproof mascara (as it needs to be removed with an oil based product)
do not use any facial cleansers or makeup removers on the extensions that contain oil.

Oil will weaken the bond of the adhesive and the extension may loosen or even break off.

How long do they last?
The length of time they last depends on your own natural lashes. Once you have an extension bonded to your lash, you will only lose the extension when your own natural lash falls out. They can last from 4 - 6 weeks, which is the life cycle of your natural lash.

How often do I need to come back for touch ups?
As your eyelash growth cycles vary, and your lashes are constantly being shed and replaced, it is best to get them checked every 2 weeks for the first month. After that, depending on your lashes (and how well you care for them!) you generally only need maintenance approximately every 3 weeks.

Can I get an eyelash tint before my extensions?
Absolutely! It is recommended for lighter lashed people to get a tint before the grafting, as the extensions are black or brown.

How do I care for my lashes?

Avoid rubbing your eyes
Do not use metal eyelash curlers (they may snap your extensions)
Remove eye makeup gently with oil free remover
Be aware when sleeping not to lie on lashes (pressure may cause a crease)
